I’m Nate, the bike planner for Baltimore.   It’s not just my job; I’m pretty passionate about 2 wheeled, non-motorized issues in the Baltimore metropolitan region.  It started when I was a 5 year old kid, and my dad taught me how to ride a bike in one afternoon.  From there, the horizon was the limit and I haven’t stopped pedalling.  At 16, when all my friends were buying cars, I got a TREK 7000 and started mountain biking. Needless to say, even my closest friends were like “Dude, what are you thinking?  You could have bought a cheap car for that price.”

From there I went to Frostburg and earned a Geography degree with Urban Planning and Cartography, became a lifeguard, made flood maps for FEMA, took a year off of work, travelled extensively, hiked the Appalachian Trail, got married, became a civil engineer, helped the county on their Eastern County Bike Plan, found my calling, and then became the Baltimore City Bike & Pedestrian Planner.

Now my passion is my job.  Here’s the scoop….
